世界に広く分布し、日本でも最も普通に見られる種の１つである。翅の長さに多型が見られ、メスは長翅型～淡翅型だが、雄は短翅型。寄主植物は主にキクやヨモギ類などのキク科の葉。

It shows polymorphism in wing length, with females ranging from macropterous to macropterous, whereas males are macropterous only. It breeds on the leaves of Asteraceae such as Chrysanthemum morifolium and Artemisia species.
